Aranzazu’s research endeavors are directed towards addressing the challenges of our era: achieving extended yet healthy lifespans. This pursuit revolves around delving into the intricate molecular mechanisms that underlie the interactions between hosts and microbes. The focal point lies in comprehending how microbiota responses intertwine with host immunity. Employing advanced genetic technologies within the context of the fruit fly model, Aranzazu investigates alterations within microbiota communities that propel inflammatory processes, such as the onset of aging. The title of her talk is: “Microbial Harmony: Illuminating Pathways to Lifelong Health.” Aranzazu is a co-founder of the Public Journal Club.
