Day 2 at Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) places science in conversation with other disciplines to explore the plurality of knowledge. At the intersection of art and science, this day examines what happens when different ways of knowing and making meet. When a finding becomes a sensation, a method becomes a material, and form and content become truly inseparable.
Expect art-science collaborations, scientific ideas translated into cultural media, and formats that treat knowledge like a material: something you can touch, feel, embody, or speak back to. Here, science slips into a pair of heels for a night of drag. Elsewhere, cells find a voice of their own, otherworldly, and a little eerie, and down the hall, a workshop invites you to experience a flood through a soundstory.
This day brings together artists, researchers, art-science practitioners, and curious minds. For festivalgoers discovering art-science for the first time, the day offers a chance to see science take on unexpected forms. For professionals in the art-science field, the day offers emerging insights from leading voices and institutions in the field, as well as networking opportunities.

Some of the most interesting research fits into just a few minutes. On the Inspiration Stage, you'll hear quick-fire talks by early-career researchers on topics ranging from global inequalities and the growing impact of AI to new approaches to cancer treatment. After each session, stick around to meet the speakers, ask your own questions, and dig deeper into the ideas that stood out to you.
