Sabine Klaassen heads the research group “Clinical Cardiogenetics” at the Experimental and Clinical Research Center (ECRC) of Charité and the Max Delbrück Center. She is also a physician specialized in cardiomyopathies and genetics at the Clinic for Congenital Heart Defects and Pediatric Cardiology of the German Heart Center of Charité. Sabine Klaassen studied medicine at Freie Universität Berlin. Her research career subsequently took her to Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA, to the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London in the UK, and to the Heart Center of the University Hospital Zurich in Switzerland, among other places.
