Emma Sicher is a biodesigner specializing in sustainable materialities and fermentation. She holds a degree in Design and Arts and a master in Eco-Social design, both earned at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano in Italy. Projects she has worked on have been exhibited at Vitra Design Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, maat, and ADI Design Museum. She recently gave a TEDx talk in Bolzano, Italy, discussing the potential of microorganisms for sustainable futures. At the moment, she is a PhD candidate at the HfG Offenbach and Matters of Activity Cluster of Excellence in Berlin, researching human-plant-microbe relationships and elaborating on the concept of multispecies matter as a holistic strategy for local and global resilience.
