Claudia Crocini leads a junior research group funded by the German Centre for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK) at the Max Rubner Center at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. With her team, she is studying how male and female heart cells are different. She advocates for incorporating sex as a critical variable early in basic research. With this approach, Claudia aims at uncovering the unique characteristics of male and female cardiac cells, ultimately accelerating later stages of research and paving the way for more tailored and effective treatments.
