“Chance favors the prepared mind” – This quote by Louis Pasteur is not only true for scientific discoveries, but also for your career.

The workshop will provide you with a structure for how you can set yourself up for lucky coincidences – no matter if you want to pursue a career in academia or in other sectors. We will look at the elements of a career strategy comprising of self-reflection, your message, visibility, networking, and crafting an application.

There will be time for your questions as well.

 

Anne Schreiter is Executive Director of the German Scholars Organization (GSO), an independent nonprofit in Berlin that advises, connects, promotes, and funds researchers who want to build a career in Germany. She studied Social and Business Communications and Sociology in Berlin and Chinese Language in Nanjing, China. After receiving her PhD in Organizational Sociology from the University of St. Gallen, she spent a year as postdoctoral researcher at UC Berkeley, USA. Anne is a trained coach and facilitator and also serves on advisory boards of the Planck-Academy and the Network Science Management. Learn more about her journey here.
