Thomas Tichai

Dr. Thomas Tichai is a Berlin-based composer, performer, producer, lecturer and teacher. He has been working, touring and collaborating as a professional musician and solo artist for almost 20 years. Since 2011, his artistic focus has been the exploration of the sonic potential of electric guitar, modular systems and analogue synthesizers within electronic and ambient music as one half of Psycho & Plastic. The duo’s fiercely independent spirit led him to co-found and co-operate the artist-run independent label GiveUsYourGOLD. Thomas holds a PhD in Sonic Arts for his artistic research into participative methods of composing and regularly teaches seminars and workshops in (electronic) music, composition, music theory, and sound art to children, adolescents and adults of all proficiencies and backgrounds.
