Gilberto is a physician and neuroscientist studying the eye as a means to characterize and diagnose demyelinating diseases like multiple sclerosis, Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) and MOG associated disorders (MOGAD). He studied medicine in his home town, Mexico City, followed by a Master and PhD in neurosciences in Charité. He is currently working as a research physician in the outpatient clinic for MS in Charité Campus Mitte, part of his first year of residency in neurology.
