Psychedelic Experience in Medicine and Society – from Science to Implementation and Back

Come together to learn and discuss about the present and future of psychedelic experience as an instrument in psychotherapy as well as in personal and societal development.

The world of psychedelic drugs and experiences is changing rapidly: clinical research psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy are promising and increasingly acceptable, and even changes to legal status are now on the horizon. In parallel, public opinion and media coverage on the use of psychedelic drugs shift towards mainstream interest and positive stories. The need for new frameworks towards a ‚culture of consciousness‘ becomes visible. How can we ensure a responsible and inclusive societal integration of such extraordinary instruments? At the same time, mental health and mindfulness practices without substances are becoming important societal means of coping with our day and age. This all begs the question, do we need psychedelic drugs? How can psychedelic experience help deal with the ecological crisis? And what even is a psychedelic experience?

We find here a mosaic of interests, wishes and needs, and challenges on the risks and potentials of psychedelic experience in therapy and society. As part of the Berlin Science Week 2023, the MIND Foundation and OVID Clinic Berlin invite you to untangle the web and work together to move the field ahead, based on empirical evidence, integrity, and responsibility.

Event Program:

There will be four presentations on clinical and societal topics related to psychedelic experience. After each we will have time for questions and answers and open discussion with all attendees.

The final hour of the event invites everyone to network and discuss the day’s topics in a relaxed atmosphere.
