Disruption in Chemistry

GreenCHEM | Martin Rahmel, Stephanie Malchow

The role of science, startups and innovation in transforming the materials of our lives with green chemistry

Green Chemistry isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a revolution that’s transforming the way we approach science. Join us to unravel the fundamental questions: What is Green Chemistry, and why is it crucial for our future? How does innovation play a pivotal role in reshaping the traditional chemical industry, and what are the barriers and challenges we must conquer on this journey of transformation?

Discover the unique dynamics of Berlin, a city where the chemical industry might not be prevalent, but innovation and sustainability are thriving. We’ll uncover the untapped potential for startups to lead the charge in Green Chemistry, setting a global example. Just like Vyld, a green chemistry startup which pioneeres seaweed-based menstrual products like the ‚Kelpon‘ tampon. They aim to make seaweed a sustainable non-food raw material, reducing resource consumption, aiding ocean rewilding, and cutting waste in menstrual products while promoting human health.

Come along and join in the conversation about how science, startups, and innovation converge to disrupt the status quo, reinventing materials, processes, and products for a more sustainable world.
