As a doctoral candidate at the Berlin School of Mind and Brain, my research centres on the exploration of social cohesion and its profound influence on perception. By leveraging motion capture, I construct immersive virtual reality experiments on ritualized movement, such as marching, within large groups. This investigation uncovers the intricate ways in which shared group movements influence our experiences, adding to our understanding of how rituals can alter individuals’ perceptions of the group and the world.
