Project Lead Sector Initiative One Health for GIZ

He studied economics at the University of Hamburg with a major in Econometrics and Development Theories. From 1987 to 1990 he conducted research on the development of Latin American countries for the Foundation Konrad Adenauer in Buenos Aires. In the following seven years he worked for Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau where he managed development projects in Eastern and Southern Africa. From 1997 to 2019 Mr Gade led programmes for international NGOs in Zambia, Tanzania and Ethiopia, with a focus on reproductive health and infectious diseases. In 2020, he moved back his home country Germany where he oversaw the project “Pandemic Dialog” for the Charité in Berlin, an initiative to promote the scientific interchange between Latin American countries and Germany. Since February 2021, Nils Gade has been leading the Sector Initiative One Health with GIZ.
