Marcia Chame is a Full Researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), in Rio de Janeiro, and coordinator of the Biodiversity and Wild Health Institutional Platform, which develops the Wild Health Information System (SISS-Geo) and the Wild Health Information Center (CISS). Chame is also a full member of the National Commission for Biodiversity (CONABIO), coordinated by the Brazilian Ministry of Environment, and, since 2019, she is the scientific director of the Museum of the American Man Foundation. She has experience in the field of Parasite Ecology, with an emphasis on emergency surveillance of zoonoses, parasitology, paleoparasitology, biodiversity, conservation units, citizen science and digital inclusion. Chame has a degree in Biological Sciences from the Santa Úrsula University (1982) and a master's and doctorate in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1988 and 2007).
