Gertraud (Turu) Stadler, Professor of Gender-Sensitive Prevention Research and Head of the Department of Gender Research in Medicine, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin & Honorary Senior Lecturer in Health Psychology, University of Aberdeen, UK. Turu Stadler holds the professorship for gender-sensitive prevention research and heads the department of gender research in medicine at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. She is also a member of the Steering Committee Diversity & Gender Equality of the Berlin University Alliance. She received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Hamburg in 2006 and subsequently worked as an Associate Research Scientist in Psychology and Public Health at Columbia University. From 2015, she was a Senior Lecturer in Health Psychology at the University of Aberdeen in the UK. Turu Stadler is an advocate for gender- and diversity-sensitive medicine. Her main research interest is personalized, digitally-enabled prevention. Her applied research focuses on developing and testing theory- and evidence-based interventions for health behavior change in individuals and dyads. In her research, Turu Stadler has explored a wide range of methods, including the development of a diversity-minimal item set to systematically account for gender and diversity characteristics and data analysis methods to analyze heterogeneity, intensive longitudinal individual and clustered data, and measurements using diaries, physiological indicators, and sensors. Her main interest is in personalized prevention interventions and how people, on their own and with their social network, can change their everyday behaviors to stay healthy throughout life and find better ways to manage disease.
