Inner Horizons: Mapping the Psyche in Immersive 3D

Inner Horizon is an immersive VR journey that invites visitors to reconnect with their inner selves through a unique combination of art, technology, and guided reflection. Inspired by analog paintings, the experience transports participants into a contemplative virtual world where they are encouraged to explore the values that define who they are.

Guided by a facilitator throughout the experience, participants discover and select personal values, relevant to their self-development, while interacting simultaneously with physical symbolic objects. This dialogue between the digital and tangible worlds transforms VR from a purely visual medium into a deeply embodied and reflective experience, encouraging participants to engage with both the artwork and themselves in a new way.

Developed in collaboration with neuroscientist Dr. Prateep Beed (Institute for Neurophysiology, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin) and researcher Dr. José R. Donoso, Inner Horizon combines contemporary immersive art with insights from neuroscience to create a space for mindful exploration, self-discovery, and meaningful conversation.

The project was conceived by Dr. Prateep Beed and Dr. José R. Donoso, with concept and immersive artworks by Ala Leresteux and VR development by Jeremy Leresteux.

Throughout Berlin Science Week, visitors are invited to experience Inner Horizon in individual guided sessions and rediscover themselves through an encounter where immersive technology, contemporary art, and personal reflection come together.
