CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
Join the 2026 Berlin Science Week Programme.
Berlin Science Week is one of Europe’s leading science festivals, connecting the scientific community with over 35,000 curious minds from across Berlin and beyond to explore how science shapes our world. From 1–10 November, more than 200 organisations host hundreds of events that celebrate science in all its forms. Our programme highlights the role of knowledge in a changing world and makes science engaging for adults eager to learn from verifiable research, experience science up close, and participate in conversations with experts across disciplines.
Joining the programme gives you the chance to showcase your work to a diverse, science-curious audience, see how your research resonates with the public, experiment with event formats for science communication, and connect with fellow researchers and practitioners from across fields. Join the 2026 programme via our Call for Participation and be part of rethinking how science connects with society.
The 2026 Call for Participation closes on 24 May 2026.
FESTIVAL THEME 2026: IN TOUCH
Science is not distant, exclusive, or closed off. It is a collective adventure—the deeply human pursuit of knowledge. With this year’s festival theme, In Touch, Berlin Science Week 2026 focuses on the personal side of science: how research touches and improves our lives, affects the people behind it, and connects us with one another.
The 2026 programme highlights the people, institutions, and stories behind the scientific breakthroughs, exploring what happens when science is in touch, when it loses touch, and how it connects us all. Partners are invited to share their research and the stories behind it, engaging the public and demonstrating the real-world impact of their work. Learn more here.

HOW YOU CAN TAKE PART
The Berlin Science Week programme consists of two main programme streams: the Citywide Programme, where organisations and initiatives can independently organise events in venues across the city, and the Festival Centre Programme, designed for research institutions and scientific organisations seeking a central, high-traffic platform.
Within the Festival Centre, two curated programmes offer additional opportunities: the Art & Science Programme for artists and researchers working at the intersections of art and science, and the Inspiration Stage Programme for early-career researchers delivering short, engaging talks.
Which pathway is right for you depends on whether you are an individual, working in an initiative, or representing a research institution, as well as on your goals and how you want to engage with the public. Each programme offers a distinct way to share your work, connect with our audiences, and be part of Berlin Science Week.
CITYWIDE PROGRAMME
Bring science out of the lab and into the city. The Citywide Programme gives organisations and initiatives the freedom and flexibility to engage the public in venues of their choosing across Berlin. With no participation fee and a range of support tools to help plan, promote, and run your event, it’s an accessible and practical way to boost your visibility and connect with the city’s curious minds.
