China and India on the Rise: How Global Megatrends Shape the Future of two Ascending Powers
The world is slowly turning its focus to the Indo-Pacific, a region that now generates 70% of global growth. It is a distinctly new world, and one that Western politics struggles to understand: China is a strategic partner, and a systemic rival; India is a rising power with ambitions far greater than what the current global system can award it. How will these two nations change the world, and what treacherous waters must they navigate to do so?
To understand these dynamics, PD Dr. Berthold Kuhn and Dimitrios L. Margellos turned to the Megatrends framework, identifying 12 key drivers of change globally. Through their work over the past 3 years, the authors present a compelling vision of the future based on cutting-edge research and collaboration with dozens of global experts.
In this talk, experts on India and China get together to discuss the rise of the two most populous nations as new regional and world leaders, the trends shaping their growth, as well as what the future holds for them. The panel will comprise PD Dr. Berthold Kuhn, Dr. Amit Chandra, Dr. Mabel Lu Miao, and will be moderated by Dimitrios L. Margellos.
