Blue Talk: Science and Design for Marine Ecosystem Restoration
As part of the preparation for the Third United Nations Ocean Conference jointly organised by France and Costa Rica (June 2025 - Nice, France), the Office for Science and Technology of the Embassy of France to Germany and the Embassy of Costa-Rica to Germany invite you to a panel discussion on marine ecosystem restoration techniques.
The panel will gather :
- Dr. Bernadette Pogoda, Marine scientist, Alfred-Wegener-Institute for Polar and Marine Research, from Germany
- Dr. Wilfried Sanchez, Deputy head of science at Ifremer, from France
- Dr. Melania Guerra, Head of the Climate Science and Impacts team at Climate Analytics, from Costa Rica
- Rasa Weber, Researcher and designer, member of the Cluster of Excellence "Matter of Activity", Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, from Germany
- David Enon, Freelance designer, from France
The panellists will be sharing their knowledge and experience on various methods for marine ecosystem restoration, from a multidisciplinary perspective.
The panel discussion will be followed by the official opening of the exhibition "SymbiOcean" by Rasa Weber, showcasing her work in developing a prototype of an artificial reef that provides a substrate and structure for pioneer organisms to form a habitat.
The event will end with a cocktail reception.
