Art & Science Opening Panel: Tracing Art & Science from the 1990s to Today
Art and science began to develop as a field of its own in the 1990s, and it can now look back on 30 years of collaboration. Having first made a name for itself by shaping speculative futures, it increasingly contributes to critical reflection.
Four people who have helped shape the field look at this journey: Giulia Bini is Head of Arts at CERN, Christina Landbrecht leads the art programme at Schering Stiftung, Sara Morais Dos Santos Bruss is curator for Scientific, Digital and Media Practices (Haus der Kulturen der Welt), and Christian Rauch is Festival Director of Berlin Science Week.
The conversation is moderated by Clara Roca-Sastre, Programme Co-Lead and Curator of Berlin Science Week.
As the opening of our Art & Science Practitioner’s Route, the panel is for everyone interested in how the relationship between art and science has developed, who shapes the field, and what this means for the scene today.
