Nudging for Energy Efficiency

Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI | Niklas Reinfandt, Heike Brugger

Learn how to categorise energy users into different profiles and use appropriate behavioural interventions (nudges) to improve energy efficiency!

Do you want to learn more about energy efficiency and nudging, and see how the two can be brought together? You can do so on 3 November 2023 at the Natural History Museum’s Deep Dive Forum, where researchers from the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI will introduce you to these two concepts in an interactive lecture based, among other things, on the European research project NUDGE.

Energy efficiency is an essential building block for achieving the climate goals. In this context, the behaviour of energy consumers also plays an important role. In five different field studies across Europe, NUDGE used a wide range of methods and tools to investigate how energy consumers can be encouraged to save energy through nudging, without bans, mandates or economic incentives. Aspects covered in the field studies include efficient heating, self-generated electricity (PV) and self-consumption, as well as education and awareness-raising on various energy related topics for children.

Interested? More information and interesting details will be available at the Deep Dive Forum at the Natural History Museum on 3 November at 11.30am. We look forward to seeing you there. Fraunhofer… #we know how.
