Marten Kaas

Marten Kaas is a researcher in philosophy and biology at the Cluster of Excellence Science of Intelligence, where he examines the cluster's research on intelligence to assess its ethical implications. Currently, Marten is focusing on developing an ethics process to ensure the production of ethical basical research as well as guidelines to ensure that basic researchers are engaging in ethically acceptable research practices. Additionally, Marten is interested in AI ethics and in examining the foundations of moral reasoning and intelligence, including the basis for ascriptions of moral agency and moral patiency.
