Francisco Javier Morales Serrano

Prof. Francisco Morales Serrano holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico, a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and completed his PhD at the Technische Universität Berlin. He spent 25 years working in industry, primarily within Biomedical Engineering, and is the co-author of more than 20 patents. Ten years ago, he became a professor at the Berliner Hochschule für Technik, where he chairs the Department of Automation and founded the Laboratory for Autonomous Surgery—his primary area of research. He is the father of two adult children, and enjoys running, yoga, literature, philosophy, and long walks with his two lovely dogs.
