Review 2022
2022 IN REVIEW
After two years during which the pandemic strongly influenced the appearance of Berlin Science Week, we were pleased that the 2022 edition focused once more on personal encounters, interaction, and exchange.
While the crowded spaces at the in-person events evidently demonstrated their attractiveness for our attendees, we’ve witnessed lively debates, controversial discussions, fruitful conversations, and enriching encounters across the board, offline and online. Over the 10 festival days, we brought together 140 organisations, 500 speakers and over 20,000 visitors.
CAMPUS
On 4—5 November 2022, the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and the adjacent Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin were once again transformed into Berlin Science Week’s vibrant festival centre.
In 2022, for the first time, the Berlin Science Week CAMPUS had a thematic focus: “Paradigm Shift. Co-Creating a Sustainable Now!“. Around this motto, we created two days entirely dedicated to multi-perspective approaches and collaborative efforts. With nearly 8,000 visitors, the CAMPUS was a central hub for international dialogue and co-creation.
We were happy to call the city and canton of Zürich our content partner on the CAMPUS in 2022. With the cooperation “Zurich meets Berlin“, we bundled the innovative power of both cities and brought many exciting topics, exhibits, and interactions to the CAMPUS.
