Negotiating with no

ESMT Berlin

ESMT Open Lecture with Dr. Martin Schweinsberg, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior, ESMT Berlin

In negotiations, impasses can be both costly and common, yet they are often overlooked in negotiation scholarship. Why do negotiations reach an impasse, and how can we effectively navigate and resolve these deadlocks?

Dr. Martin Schweinsberg, associate professor in organizational behavior at ESMT Berlin, will explore these critical questions in his talk. He will draw on his extensive research and publications to provide insights into the types, causes, and resolutions of negotiation impasses. Additionally, Dr. Schweinsberg will discuss strategies for saying “no” effectively to avoid overwhelming requests at work.

The event will be moderated by Qiao Zhang, program director of executive education at ESMT Berlin, who brings her expertise in leadership development and coaching to the discussion.
