Forecast Condensed: Open Call for Projects at Berlin Science Week

Forecast is a platform dedicated to facilitating, mentoring, and promoting trailblazing creative practices and audacious artistic practitioners.

Forecast encompasses one-on-one mentorships, the workshop series Forecast Condensed, and is the initiator of longterm scientific-artistic research programs such as Driving the Human (2020–2023) and Housing the Human (2018–2019).

Forecast Condensed offers creative thinkers from a wide range of disciplines the opportunity to examine projects and enhance their applicability with advice and feedback from a panel of mentors. For our workshop day at Science Week, we invite Berlin-based researchers and creative practitioners working in any discipline to apply via our open call with projects that could benefit from the input and expertise offered by the workshop’s panel of mentors. The workshop is for successful applicants only, and will revolve around the following theme:

Is the Personal Generative? 
Subjectivity and curiosity as the prism through which to create and research 

We invite researchers, artists, designers, and curators to a two-part workshop exploring the dynamic intersection of creative work with personal and lived experience. In workshops led by Forecast mentors (for applicants only), followed by a "fishbowl"-format exercise (open to the public), participants will step beyond disciplinary boundaries and engage in questions surrounding subjectivity in generative work. 

By fostering dialogue between creative and analytical approaches, the workshop emphasizes experimentation, curiosity, and the exchange of methods across fields. Limited to successful applicants, the workshops will investigate how artistic intuition can inform scientific inquiry—and how scientific frameworks can inspire new forms of artistic expression—creating a space where ideas cross-pollinate, evolve, and generate innovative perspectives. The workshop's findings will be discussed in the afternoon in a fishbowl-format discussion open to the public.
