Johanna Seelemann leads a design studio exploring the mystification of everyday objects and materials. The studio works across a variety of typologies, from product design to research-driven installations, combining conceptual rigor with material and production insight.
Johanna Seelemann (b. 1990, Leipzig, Germany) founded the studio in 2020. She previously assisted Studio FormaFantasma. The designer developed her fascinations during the Contextual Design master program at the Design Academy in Eindhoven (2019) as well as the bachelor course in Product Design at the Iceland University of the Arts in Reykjavík (2016). Seelemann’s work has previously been exhibited at the Design Museum London, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Museum of the City of New York, the Villa Noailles in Hyères, the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven, the MAKK Museum in Cologne, the Design Museum in Helsinki, the Regional Museum of Skåne, Vandalorum in Sweden, the Vögele Kulturzentrum in Switzerland, the Tønder Art Museum in Denmark, the Industrial Museum in Chemnitz and the TextielMuseum in Tilburg, among others.
