SCIENCE OF RAVE

Science of Rave brings science into the club.

We are a group of artists, DJs, scientists and science communicators who are actively involved in Berlin’s club life. Our aim as a collective is to offer as many people as possible a safe space for learning and exchanging ideas about club culture and their own clubbing experience. At Science of Rave, we open up new perspectives and conversations in an interactive party format.

Embedded in the Berlin Science Week Closing Party at Holzmarkt 25, the Science of Rave collective will take you on a journey into the inner workings of club life! While heating up the dancefloor during a 2-hour set by DJ Discotopian, you will hear various scientific and expert impulses shedding light on hidden aspects of the clubbing experience. Curated by Dr. Prateep Beed (Mind Foundation & Immersia Labs), Lori Baldwin and Felix Rundel (futurehain), Science of Rave explores themes such as collective movement to music, synchronised brains in bliss, insights into perfect club spaces and much more! We have a stellar line-up of speakers spanning several disciplines like neuroscience, psychology, design and philosophy!

Our speakers this year are: Manisha Biswas, Dr. Till Kastendieck, Dr. Óscar Soto Angona, Marc Engenhardt, Prof. Dr. Hanna Gwendolyn Zimmermann, and Dr. Yu-Fang Yang.
