The New Global Disorder: Europe's Future in a Fracturing World

Europaeum, Freie Universität Berlin

How can Europe defend its interests and values in an era of Trump, Putin and Xi? Federica Mogherini, former Italian foreign minister and EU High Representative, explores 'the new global disorder'.

The inaugural Europaeum annual lecture will be given by Federica Mogherini, the former Italian foreign minister and EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, at Freie Universität Berlin on Friday 7th November.

It is also a great honour to have former Federal Foreign Minister and Vice Chancellor, Joschka Fischer joining us at this event.

Our speakers will talk about 'The new global disorder: Europe's future in a fracturing world', from 15.30 to 17.00 hours at the Henry Ford Building (Garystrasse 35, 14195 Berlin), followed by a reception for all participants.

This keynote event, held in association with the Una Europa alliance of universities, will be live-streamed on the Freie Universität website.

The Europaeum is a network of 17 leading universities in Europe, based in Oxford and including the Freie Universität Berlin. Its new annual lecture will be an opportunity for major figures to present their latest thinking on the most important issues and challenges facing Europe, rotating around different universities across the continent, on a date chosen to coincide with the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The Europaeum runs a series of programmes designed to enable postgraduate students from its member universities to develop leadership skills and deepen their understanding of public policy issues, especially in relation to Europe.
