CHRYSALIS. ARTISTS IN LABS

The exhibition CHRYSALIS. ARTISTS IN LABS presents the results of an innovative 18 month interdisciplinary exchange between art and science in Berlin science laboratories, kindly supported by Lottostiftung Berlin. Building on Berlin’s unique status as a global centre for arts and sciences, we aim to create new synergies based on topics of current research. In collaboration with a consortium of scientists from the Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, University of the Arts Berlin, the Charité and the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience, Art Laboratory Berlin is initiating artist-in-lab residencies for internationally recognized, Berlin-based artists – Helena Nikonole, Julius Holtz, Margherita Pevere and Marcus Maeder. The results of 18 months of research and artistic production are presented at two spaces in Berlin-Wedding.

Künstlerische Forschung in Wissenschaft und Technologie in Berlin
Die Ausstellung CHRYSALIS. ARTISTS IN LABS präsentiert die Ergebnisse eines innovativen, 18-monatigen interdisziplinären Austauschs zwischen Kunst und Naturwissenschaften in Berliner Forschungslabors, der freundlicherweise von der Lottostiftung Berlin unterstützt wurde. Aufbauend auf Berlins einzigartiger Stellung als globales Zentrum für Kunst und Wissenschaft wollen wir neue Synergien schaffen, die auf aktuellen Forschungsthemen basieren. In Zusammenarbeit mit einem Konsortium aus Wissenschaftler:innen der Freien Universität Berlin, der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, der Technischen Universität Berlin, der Universität der Künste Berlin, der Charité und des Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience initiiert das Art Laboratory Berlin „Artist-in-Lab“-Residenzen für international anerkannte, in Berlin lebende Künstler:innen – Helena Nikonole, Julius Holtz, Margherita Pevere und Marcus Maeder. Die Ergebnisse der 18-monatigen Forschungs- und Schaffensphase werden an zwei Orten in Berlin-Wedding präsentiert.
