Siegfried Russwurm

Siegfried Russwurm is a German engineer and business executive who is President of the German National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech). He studied production engineering at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, where he also earned a PhD in mechanical engineering and since 2009 is honorary professor in mechatronics.

He spent much of his career at Siemens, holding senior management and executive roles with focus on industrial and medical industries, including Member of the Managing Board and Chief Technology Officer. He served as President of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) from 2021 to 2024, and is currently Chairman of the Supervisory Boards of Thyssenkrupp and Voith Group.
