Mona Alzheimer

  • 2025
  • Attendee

Mona Alzheimer is a scientific coordinator with a strong interdisciplinary background in molecular RNA biology and infection research on bacterial pathogens. She studied Biology and Chemistry at the University of Würzburg (JMU), followed by her doctoral studies on the topic of tissue-engineered infection models. After graduating summa cum laude with a PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) in Molecular Infection Biology, she expanded her expertise in RNA biology and its role in bacterial pathogenesis during a short postdoctoral phase. Subsequently, she transitioned into a leadership role as a Scientific Coordinator in the department of Molecular Infection Biology II at JMU. In this position, she not only supports scientists in the strategic planning and experimental directive of their work, but also promotes communication, networking, interdisciplinary exchange, and efficient project management.
