Dr. Marios Psarianos is a researcher at Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB), Potsdam, Germany. He received his PhD in 2024 from the Justus-Liebig University in Giessen, Germany working on the interface of food processing and insect biotechnology. His main research interests include processing and evaluation of edible insects among others alternative protein sources, novel food processing technologies, waste valorization, biorefinery concepts and production of biobased compounds. Due to his background in chemical engineering, his expertise lies the interaction of process and chemical components. Since 2023, Dr. Psarianos has been involved also in science dissemination and has supported the organization of scientific events, such as the INSECTA2023 and INSECTA2024 international conferences, as well as the EFFoST / IFT-NPD 2024 Workshop on Nonthermal Processing of Foods.
