Manu Kapur is the Director of the Singapore-ETH Center and Professor for Learning Sciences and Higher Education at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, where he also led The Future Learning Initiative. Before that Manu held professorial and leadership positions at universities in Hong Kong and Singapore. A mechanical engineer-turned-math teacher-turned-academic, Manu holds a doctorate in the learning sciences from Teachers College, Columbia University. He also holds double Masters: a Master of Science in Applied Statistics from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Master of Education from the National Institute of Education in Singapore. Manu conceptualized the ground-breaking theory of Productive Failure, profoundly impacting the learning sciences as well as STEM education. In addition to substantial funding and media attention worldwide, Manu is a sought-after keynote speaker, having delivered two TEDx talks, and has held prestigious visiting professorships and advisory roles globally.
