Life Sciences are both resource and energy intensive, leading to a relatively large carbon footprint of biomedical research. During her doctoral work in Volker Haucke's group at the FMP Berlin, Kristine Oevel made it her mission to make laboratory practices more sustainable. Through the efforts of Kristine and her colleagues, the group achieved certification as the first green lab in Germany, with the goal of sharing their knowledge and practices to contribute to a sustainable future for the life sciences. Listen to Kristine at #PDD24 and learn about what we can do everyday to reduce our carbon footprint.
