Frieder is a biomedical researcher at RWTH Aachen University and Maastricht University, exploring how light and daily environments shape human health. With a PhD in physiology and chronobiology, he studies how better alignment between daylight and our biological clocks can improve sleep, energy, and wellbeing. Frieder leads interdisciplinary projects on healthier buildings and care settings, supported by Germany’s Excellence Strategy. Beyond the lab, he hosts the podcast CHRONO:MEDICINE and speaks at conferences, aiming to make science accessible and reconnect society with the benefits of natural rhythms.
