Dr Inga Patarčić is a Research Data Manager and Open Science advocate at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association (MDC) in Berlin and a Berlin University Alliance Open Science Ambassador. Trained as a molecular biologist and bioinformatician, she has worked across Croatia, the UK and Germany.

For nearly two decades, she has been involved in science communication and public engagement. She is the founder of Znanost u prolazu (Science in Progress), a Croatian science communication NGO that organizes public science events across Croatia, attracting thousands of citizens, and has trained more than 150 women scientists in science communication.

Outside science, she is a passionate climber — an interest that has taken her from climbing walls to mountains around the world.
