Ambassador Maria Teresa Torres Almojuela is the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the Federal Republic of Germany.

Prior to this appointment, Ambassador Almojuela served in Manila as Assistant Secretary for United Nations and International Organizations of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) from June 2023 to December 2025 and as Chief of Staff of the Office of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs from January 2023 to April 2024.

Her professional experience has strong anchors on multilateral and regional diplomacy, having served as Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva  from 2016 to 2022, and in senior posts as Deputy to the Ambassador in the Philippine Embassy in Beijing from 2009 to 2012, and as Minister in the Philippine Embassy and Permanent Mission to the United Nations and International Organizations in Vienna from 2006 to 2012.

Her portfolios in Manila have covered China, maritime and regional security, in relation to her assignments as Director for China/North Asia of the Office of Asian and Pacific Affairs (2002 - 2006), Deputy Assistant Secretary/Executive Director of the Maritime and Ocean Affairs Office (2014 - 2015) and as Senior Special Assistant/Deputy to the Undersecretary for Policy (2013 - 2016).

As appointed by the UN Secretary General, Ambassador Almojuela is a member of the the Advisory Group for the UN Central Emergency Response Fund from 2023 to 2026.
