Geo Barcan

I am an artist and writer. My films and videos, installations and texts are based on the experiences of marginal subjects. Political, ecological, cosmological, and technological themes come to the surface through the experiences of beings familiar to the peripheries, at the edge of the world. 

I think of my moving-image practice as a cinema of invisibility, where I try to capture/disclose unseen yet hyper-present forces such as the internet, software, memory or changes that happened through long periods of time and that have become so obvious that their after-effects are almost untraceable.
