Galit Pelled, Ph.D., is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Radiology and Neuroscience at Michigan State University (MSU). She earned her undergraduate and Ph.D. degrees in Neuroscience from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 2004. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in 2008, she joined the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in the department of Radiology and at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, later becoming an Associate Professor in 2014. In 2017, Dr. Pelled was recruited to MSU as a tenured Full Professor, where she established and lead the Neuroengineering division. Her research focuses on understanding behavior and motor control, as well as developing neuromodulation technologies to enhance neuro-performance.

In addition to her research, Dr. Pelled is deeply committed to fostering diversity and inclusion within academia. She envisions an environment that nurtures leaders who contribute to university initiatives and broader national and international programs. Her dedication to enhancing diversity is evident in her development of various programs at MSU, including a grant-funded initiative in 2019 to promote women's leadership in engineering. She serves on the MSU President's advisory committee on disability issues, and her contributions to diversity and inclusion were recognized with the Withrow Global Excellence in Diversity Award.
