Ela Spalding is a multidisciplinary artist~facilitator dedicated to reimagining our roles within the ecosystems, communities and planet we call home. Her practice incorporates ecological thinking, place-based practices, encounters between different fields of knowledge, somatic experience, narrative art, sound and listening. She is the founder of Estudio Nuboso, an art and ecology platform in Panama established in 2012, where she has designed and facilitated interdisciplinary and collaborative projects spanning art, science, diverse communities, design and education; curating publications, events and exhibitions, amongst other initiatives. She is the author of the SUELO Field Guide — a methodology for reconnecting with the places we inhabit. From her current base in Mallorca, she explores the notion of nature-culture corridors of planetary solidarity through her podcast Tejiendo Corredores ~ Weaving Corridors, and collaborates with museums, universities, scientific and cultural institutions, as well as environmental NGOs and individuals around the world. Her works have been featured in group exhibitions in Latin America and Europe, and are part of the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) in Panama.
