Donovan Dennis is a glaciologist and member of the Management Team for the Tipping Points Modelling Intercomparison Project (TIPMIP) based at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and the Max Planck Institute of Geoanthropology. His research focuses on systems in transition, ranging from mountain permafrost to the polar ice sheets, and he is particularly interested in understanding tipping behaviour in glaciers and icesheets as well as their overall response to global change. Donovan has served as Co-Chief Editor of Polarforschung, the journal of the German Society for Polar Research (DGP), and is a former member of the the Association for Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) international council and APECS-Germany executive board. He is one of the founding Core Team leaders of "Out on the 'Berg 🌈," the LGBTQ+  network for the Potsdam Telegrafenberg research institutes.
