Cherry Cheung
- Berlin Science Week
Cherry is an architect (Hong Kong/Germany) whose work bridges research, practice and community engagement. Early in her career, she explored urban ecology in the dense city context of Hong Kong—both as a keen hiker and through research and tutoring in a master studio. Since 2015 she has been based in Berlin, focusing on adaptive reuse and regeneration of existing buildings. Central to Cherry’s work is the element of time—as a building material and a design tool—layering past, present, and future into her work to reveal the evolving life cycles of spaces and materials. Through architecture and visual work, she invites others to see cities as living organisms and to imagine how their stories might unfold.
