Cheng is currently a PhD candidate at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics, having started her position working under Prof. Alessandra Buonanno in 2023. Her research focuses on modelling gravitational waves produced by binary black hole systems. These theoretical waveform models are crucial for analysing data from experiments like LIGO, helping us extract valuable astrophysical information about the universe around us. Originally from Singapore, she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Oxford and her master's degree at ETH Zürich.
