Anna Birke

Anna is a microbiologist who received her PhD in industrial microbiology and biotechnology from the University of Strathclyde (UK) before moving to Berlin where she worked for a food technology start-up for three years. She has been in her current role as post-doctoral researcher at the department for applied and molecular microbiology at the Technical University Berlin since June 2024. Aside from working in science, she has been doing improv for just over 5 years and has initiated and participated in various science communication events both in the UK and in Berlin.
