Andrew James Johnston is a Professor of Medieval and Renaissance English Literature at the Freie Universität Berlin and one of the two co-directors of the Cluster of Excellence "Temporal Communities: Doing Literature in a Global Perspective" (with Prof. Anne Eusterschulte). His special fields of interest are premodern temporalities, medieval aesthetic notions of globality and the entangled histories of premodern art and literature.
