Achim Stahl

Univ.-Prof. Dr. Achim Stahl is an astrophysicist working at the RWTH Aachen University in the fields of neutrino physics and gravitational waves. He has a long history of participation in international large-scale projects of basic research at CERN, Stanford, Japan or China. He was involved in several break-throughs on neutrino oscillations and in the discovery of the Higgs-particle. He has a broad expertise from developments of detector hardware, through data analysis to computing. 

Prof. Stahl is a leading member of the international Einstein Telescope collaboration (ET), for example a member of the project office directorate for the realization of the ET in the three-country corner of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. He works on the vacuum system, the design of the subsurface laboratory, on the compatibility of wind turbines with the operation of ET, or on the development of a concept for the CO2-neutral operation of the ET computing.
