Falling Walls Engage Hub Mexico
Connecting regional science engagement practitioners in Mexico with international networks to solve global challenges from the ground up
Hub focus
Engage Hub Mexico is a unique regional science engagement hub that provides a space for exchange, collaboration and co-creation through events, workshops and community activities in the region. Part of a global science engagement network, the community welcomes science practitioners and organisations from Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean to share perspectives and collaborate on innovative approaches to science engagement, in particular projects that address societal and environmental challenges.
Key priority areas
Since its launch in 2022, the Hub has sought to foster and promote young people’s interest and skills in science across the region. Through curated public events, clubs, workshops, teacher training programs and science fairs, the Hub connects public dialogue with hands-on STEM education. This mission has been enabled in part thanks to the extensive network of science clubs established by the Engage Hub Mexico hosts, PAUTA.
Local relevance
Engage Hub Mexico’s local relevance lies in its ability to connect global science engagement approaches with the specific social, environmental and educational challenges of Mexico and the wider region. By working closely with Mexican institutions and educators, the Hub is able to foster grassroots, community-driven solutions and regional collaboration while still benefitting from international knowledge exchange and networks.
