Falling Walls Engage Hub Greece
Connecting science engagement communities across Greece and Southern Europe to spark collaboration and impact
Hub focus
Launched in November 2021, Engage Hub Greece brings together science practitioners and organisations from across Greece and Southern Europe, providing a platform for scientific engagement and empowerment. Consisting of scientists, academics, educators and artists, the community utilises innovative, interactive and entertaining means to bring science to regional and international audiences, strengthen public dialogue around science, and tackle challenges such as misinformation and unequal access to STEM.
Key priority areas
Key priority areas for Engage Hub Greece include the promotion of science and technology communication among diverse groups, engaging and empowering educators, students and citizens, and inspiring young people to pursue careers in STEM subjects. The Hub also focuses on strengthening science engagement and communication in Greece through capacity building, inclusive and participatory formats, and efforts to combat misinformation and improve science literacy. Additionally, the Hub places particular importance on facilitating collaboration between science, education, culture and civil society, connecting local actors to the global Engage network where they can share best practices and make a greater impact.
Local relevance
The Engage Hub Greece provides local relevance by connecting Greek science communicators, educators, researchers and organisations to the broader international Falling Walls Engage ecosystem. Rooted in Greece’s science engagement network, the Hub focuses on issues that matter locally while acting as a bridge to global best practices and collaborations. This approach allows Greek practitioners to co-develop projects with international peers while addressing regional priorities in education, sustainability and public engagement with science.
