Opening Night Berlin Science Week 2025: Beyond Now

Berlin Science Week

An evening of science, music, and collaboration to kick off the festival’s 10th anniversary.

As Berlin Science Week marks its 10th anniversary, we look not back, but forward. With this year’s festival theme, Beyond Now, we ask how science can help us break through the escalating urgencies of the present and open new perspectives for the future. With more than 350 events across the city, the 2025 programme offers spaces for collective visioning: not as escapism, but as a form of grounded optimism.

The Opening Night will set the stage for the week ahead. We’ll be bringing together this year’s partners and sponsors in a creative and innovative networking format. Envisioned in partnership with the Jazz-Institut Berlin of the Universität der Künste Berlin (UDK) and Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, the evening merges scientific discovery, musical performance, and personal exchange. It will be a space to meet and connect with peers, network, and celebrate the kind of unexpected encounters that fuel interdisciplinary collaboration.

Welcome addresses will be given by:

  • Dr. Ina Czyborra, Senator for Science, Health, and Long-Term Care
