GIFTS 2026 Evening Forum: German-Israeli Science In Touch
The GIFTS Evening Forum is the open, public-facing programme of GIFTS - the German-Israeli Forum for Tomorrow's Scientists, organised by the German-Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research and Development (GIF) and ScienceAbroad.
The evening opens the forum to a broader Berlin Science Week audience: early-career and senior researchers, professors, institutional representatives, funding bodies, science-policy stakeholders, the German-Israeli scientific community, and science-curious members of the public.
The programme includes welcome remarks, a fireside chat on how to foster German-Israeli scientific collaboration, lightning talks by early-career researchers, a panel discussion, and a poster session with a dinner and networking reception. Visitors can meet researchers directly, engage with scientific posters, and hear from institutional stakeholders on how international collaboration supports discovery, mobility, and innovation.
The event connects directly to Berlin Science Week's 2026 theme, In Touch. GIFTS presents science as a network of people, institutions, and shared questions, and shows how scientific communities stay connected across borders through trust, exchange, and long-term partnership. It is designed for an academically curious adult audience and does not require specialist knowledge in any single field.
